There is a significant responsibility to being a member of the Administrative Zone as you are most directly responsible for setting the direction of the Society and are accountable to your functional zone, the NEB, and the Society as a whole. As such, is important that you hold the following qualities in order to ensure that you are effective as an leader on the Administrative Zone:
- It is important to be forward-thinking; you should be able to drive conversations forward and be innovative in changing climates.
- You should be able to communicate with many different parties and be able to represent the interests of your zone members in their absence.
- You should be organized, resourceful, and able to manage your time in order to effectively serve and lead.
- You should be approachable, know how to establish and maintain relationships within and outside the NSBE ecosystem, encourage collaboration, and know how to effectively manage conflict.
- It is important that you show integrity, are honest, are trustworthy, and are accountable.
- You should be a strategic thinker, being able to set the direction for your zone and align everyone's individual goals to your own as well as the National Directives and Strategic Plan.
Keep these in mind as you continue within your candidacy for an Administrative Zone office.
